VLM Airlines Flemish Air Transport Company) is a Belgian business airline.
(VLM Airlines- Vlaamse Luchttransportmaatschappij) started operations in May 1993 with a scheduled service between Antwerp Airport and London City Airport. The airline now employs over 400 people, and carried 745,781 passengers in 2007. Its original hub was Antwerp, but the airline now has its base at London City Airport .

In 2008 the airline reported its tenth consecutive year of profits for the year ending 31 December 2007, it had a net profit of 3.6m euros. Turnover grew to 112m euros and passenger numbers rose 9% to 745,781 during 2007 .

On 24 December 2007, Air France-KLM announced that they had signed an agreement for a full takeover of the company from Panta Holdings .
Air France-KLM announced on 28 May 2009 that VLM Airlines will gradually start to operate under the brand name CityJet. The name CityJet is already in use by the Irish regional partner of Air France-KLM. From 2010 the name VLM Airlines will be replaced altogether by CityJet although both companies would continue to operate independently.

United Air Lines is a major airline of the United States. It is a subsidiary of UAL Corporation with corporate offices in Chicago at 77 West Wacker Drive in the Chicago Loop. United's largest hub is O'Hare International Airport, where it has more than 550 daily departures. United also has hubs in Denver International Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, and Los Angeles International Airport. Its largest maintenance hub is the Maintenance Operations Center at San Francisco International Airport. United's parent company UAL Corporation announced that it will move its operational base from Elk Grove Township, Illinois to the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower) in downtown Chicago in 2010.
As of July 31, 2006, United Air Lines was the world's third largest airline by revenue-passenger-miles (behind Delta Air Lines and American Airlines), third-largest by total operating revenues (behind Air France-KLM and American Airlines), and fourth-largest by total passengers transported (behind Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and Southwest Airlines). United has 48,000 employees and operates 360 aircraft.

United Airlines traces its claim to be the oldest commercial airline in the United States to the Varney Airlines air mail service of Walter Varney, who also founded Continental Airlines. It was founded in Boise, Idaho. Varney's chief pilot, Leon D. "Lee" Cuddeback, flew the first Contract Air Mail flight in a Swallow biplane from Varney's headquarters in Boise, Idaho to the railroad mail hub at Pasco, Washington on April 6, 1926, and returned the following day with 200 pounds of mail. April 6 is regarded in the United Airlines company history as both its own birthday and the date on which "true" airline service—operating on fixed routes and fixed schedules, began in the United States. Varney Airlines' original 1925 hangar served as a portion of the terminal building for the Boise Airport until 2003, when the structure was replaced

Japan Airlines - JAL

Japan Airlines International Co., Ltd. (JAL) is the flag carrier of Japan, with its headquarters in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. The airline's main hubs are Tokyo's Narita International Airport and Tokyo International Airport, as well as Nagoya's Chūbu Centrair International Airport and Osaka's Kansai International Airport. The airline also operates fifth freedom flights from New York and Vancouver. The JAL Group's operations include scheduled and non-scheduled international and domestic passenger and cargo services to 220 destinations in 35 countries worldwide, including codeshares. The group has a fleet of 279 aircraft, consists of only Boeing aircraft for its long-haul operations; and Airbus, Boeing and McDonnell Douglas aircraft for its short-haul operations. In the fiscal year ended March 31, 2009, the airline group carrying over 52 million passengers and over 1.1 million tons of cargo and mail.
Japan Airlines (JAL) was established on August 1, 1951 and began domestic operations on October 25 with a Northwest Airlines' Martin 2-0-2. On August 1, 1953, it became a state-owned airline of Japan and began its first international services with a Douglas DC-6B, named City of Tokyo, from Tokyo to San Francisco on February 2, 1954. After over three decades of service and expansion, the airline was fully privatized on November 18, 1987. In 2002, Japan Airlines merged with Japan Air System, Japan's third-largest airline and became the sixth largest airline in the world by passengers carried.

Japan Airlines' slogan is "Dream Skyward", and the JAL group include Japan Airlines for international and domestic services; JALways for international leisure services; JAL Express for international and domestic low-cost services; Hokkaido Air System, J-Air, Japan Air Commuter, Japan Transocean Air and Ryukyu Air Commuter for domestic feeder services; and JAL Cargo for cargo and mail services. Japan Airlines and four of its subsidiaries; including J-Air, JAL Express, JALways and Japan Transocean Air; are members of the Oneworld alliance.
