Administrative control of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area lies with the Coordination Committee, or CoCo for short. The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area Central Administration (BKG) is responsible for the preparation of Metropolitan conferences and ensures that agreements are implemented. There is also an administrative platform dealing with mobility, the Noordvleugel (North Wing1) Accessibility Platform (PBN), and one dealing with economics: the Regional Economic Stimulation Platform (PRES).
The large and medium-sized local authorities and the provinces of North Holland and Flevoland are represented in these three consultative committees. The Metropolitan Area is roughly from Zeevang to Heemskerk, from the Haarlemmermeer to Uithoorn and from Hilversum to Almere (see map).
The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area website is for anyone who is interested in the region's spatial development. The (at present relatively brief) English language version provides the background of this unique collaboration for interested parties from the international arena.
The administrative responsibility for the Amsterdam metropolitan area lies with the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area Central Administration .
